Job Description

The Senior Product Development Manager for PaymentSafe will take full ownership of the product's strategic vision, roadmap, and market performance. He/She will play a leading role in driving the evolution and expansion of PaymentSafe—Eastnets' flagship payment hub solution, especially in light of new market, regulatory, and technology developments.

This role will work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure the successful planning, execution, and go-to-market delivery of features aligned with customer needs and regulatory mandates. This is a highly visible and strategic role with the opportunity to engage with payment innovation worldwide.

Responsibilities & Duties

Strategy, Vision, and Leadership

1. Develop and articulate the PaymentSafe product vision and strategy, aligning it with the wider product management and company objectives.

2. Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.

3. Lead and manage a team of business analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

4. Work closely with other PDMs to ensure the product vision and strategy are consistently implemented. Reusing features and improving product quality are key focuses.

5. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

Product Management

6. Define product requirements, features, and specifications based on market research and customer feedback.

7. Oversee the PaymentSafe product development lifecycle, focusing on enhancing product capabilities and leveraging AI and cloud technologies.

8. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery and address business, security, and regulatory requirements.

Industry Understanding

9. Stay up to date with payments market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in the financial technology space.

10. Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking to identify areas of differentiation and improvement.

Customer First

11. Engage with customers, industry experts, and partners to understand their pain points, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for innovation.

12. Champion a customer-centric approach across the product management team, ensuring solutions exceed customer expectations.

13. Collaborate with the wider PDM, sales, and customer success teams to drive product adoption, resolve escalations, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Product Market Fit and Launch

14. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.

15. Support the creation of marketing collateral, product documentation, and sales enablement materials.

16. Ensure successful product launches through effective coordination and clear communication.

Additional Functions

17. Collaborate with other directors to ensure the alignment of product goals with the overall business strategy.

18. Conduct customer and market research to understand current and future product needs.

19. Build relationships with vendors and partners; evaluate and select vendors and business partners.

20. Monitor product profitability, perform financial analysis, and present updates to stakeholders.

21. Maintain the security of the information, devices, and systems that Eastnets, its personnel, customers, and partners use.

22. Protect Eastnets' business information and any customer, supplier, or partner information in its custody by safeguarding its confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

23. Adhere to and comply with Eastnets internal security policies, Code of Ethics, Non-Disclosure Policy, Non-Compete Policy, Email Policy, Proprietary Rights Acknowledgement, Background Check Policy, and all other internal policies and the employee handbook.

24. Participate in the company’s wide initiatives.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Product Management certification is a plus).

2. Proven experience of at least 12 years in the payments business and product management, preferably within the financial technology industry.

3. Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing high-performing teams.

4. Deep understanding of SWIFT, RTGS, ACH, and real-time payment ecosystems.

5. Deep understanding of payment concepts such as direct debit authorization, reconciliation, request for payment, dispute management, wage protection system, etc.

6. Deep understanding of cross-border payments alternatives to SWIFT.

7. Up to date on the latest trends in payments such as Open Banking, confirmation of payee, ISO 20022, instant payments, CBDC, etc.

8. Deep understanding of the financial technology landscape, including AI, blockchain, and cloud technologies.

9. Understanding of integration approaches and technologies.

10. Solid grasp of API-based architectures and SaaS/cloud delivery models.

11. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market trends and customer insights into actionable product strategies.

12. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.

13. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

14. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

15. Fluency in English.

16. Familiarity with AI technologies and their application is a strong plus
